“I’m all pipe“ is a public installation piece that enables vocal exchange between two or more people in Münster, Germany and the surrounding area. The concept and design were created as part of the “Festival of Democracy“ by the “Pumpenhaus Münster“, which took place from the 2nd-10th of October 2021.

The basic idea deals with the (collectively thought) most important basis of the Basic Laws. Special focus was laid on article 5, the requirement to be able to express opinions freely and to be heard as an individual.

Four pipes in pairs of two were positioned at different locations and connected via integrated smartphones. When speaking into the pipe, the voice of the speaker would be heard at the other location and encouraged bystanders to join the conversation.

In addition, “conversation stimulators“ were provided, in which democratic opinions, questions, statements and food for thought were visually processed. The project was created in cooperation with Imke Mühlenfeld and Hanna Valtmann.
